jan 15th, 2021

Announcing “Room Enough, Time Enough”, the new record of folk songs, activism & Native Americana from Minneapolis singer-songwriter David Huckfelt , founding member of transcendental indie-folk band The Pines.  Featuring twelve new songs from the borderlands of the American Southwest and celebrating the Indigenous voices & friendships that Huckfelt has partnered with for a decade of music & protest.  “Room Enough, Time Enough” picks up where the debut record “Stranger Angels” left off, transporting the listener from the northwoods of his Minnesota home to the spacious beauty of the Sonoran Desert.

“Bury Me Not (The Dying Cowboy)” is a revolutionary take on one of the oldest songs in the American folk songbook, recorded by artists such as Johnny Cash, Joe Hickerson, Burl Ives, William Elliot Whitmore & Colter Wall. Featuring Calexico contributors Jon Villa on trumpet & Connor Gallaher on guitar, Huckfelt’s version emphasizes “the dying cowboy”, the retribution of the land itself as it swallows the greedy and those who would trampled the Earth. Featuring the Recorded in Tucson, AZ at Dust & Stone Studio and featuring an astounding cast of cowboys, Native musicians, poets, outlaws and roots music royalty including Keith Secola on flute, Trampled By Turtles frontman Dave Simonett on harmony vocals, ex-Bob Dylan drummer Winston Watson & XIXA frontman Gabriel Sullivan on guitar. “Bury Me Not (The Dying Cowboy)” is a knock-out punch from Mother Earth herself, triumphant & unbent by the designs of men.
